The second instalment of my Macleay Valley trip. It's a bit of a hidden gem for me. I like that it's warm but without the full on heat of Queensland (us southerners are a little fragile in the heat)
Mind you, the conditions weren't great this time with a strong northerly wind blowing every day but one. Even when it was overcast it was still windy! Arrrghhh!
Still had a great time and found plenty of birds, so I can't complain.
I visited a few new spots which I found from this PDF, lots more spots to check out next time too.
A few of my favourite shots from the trip

Another High Key shot! My go-to for overcast days, you can see how I create this look in my step by step tutorial, both written and video version.

I wish I spent more time photographing the Crested Terns diving, it was a bit time consuming as you had to wait for them to come close enough, but not a bad way to keep busy for a few hours. I love the afternoon light on the face, he's looking right at me, as they usually are when you have a big lens pointed at them!

Technically this isn't a great image, but I like the movement of the ducks and the bull standing there statue-like.

The elegant Pied Stilt. I find them fascinating to watch, with those legs that seem awkward but do the job of wading through mud perfectly. The sound they make is funny though, like a little yapping dog.
