Welcome! I'm a bird and nature photographer, tour guide and coach, based in the wild corner of Victoria that is East Gippsland - after decades on the beautiful Sapphire Coast of NSW.
I help photographers capture birds, nature and wildlife in their natural habitats with creativity, confidence and a sense of fun.
Bird Photography Tuition
My approach to bird photography is natural, practical and creative. I help photographers build the technical understanding they need, then use straightforward creative techniques to make stronger decisions in the field without getting buried in complicated camera settings.
My signature program is a six-month group mentorship, designed for photographers who want time to learn, practise and develop their creative eye with ongoing guidance and personalised feedback.
I also offer private mentorships, which are ideal if you’re preparing for an upcoming photography trip, working towards a particular goal, or simply want focused support to progress more quickly than you might through self-guided learning.
Online tuition gives us the luxury of time. Rather than trying to absorb everything in a single workshop, you can learn a concept, take it into the field, experiment, review the results and refine your approach between sessions.
For those who prefer to learn in person, I also offer private one-on-one bird photography coaching in the Bairnsdale region of East Gippsland, along with a small number of bird photography retreats, tours and workshops throughout the year.

Bird Photography Tours
My small-group bird photography tours are thoughtfully designed for photographers who value time, space and meaningful encounters in the field.
Built around the idea of slow birding, each journey is carefully curated to make the most of light, behaviour, habitat and seasonal opportunities. Rather than rushing from one species to the next, we spend longer in the right places, allowing time to observe, anticipate and create more considered photographs.
With intimate group sizes, distinctive destinations and a strong focus on the photographic experience, these tours are about more than simply finding birds. They are about travelling well, seeing more deeply and returning home with stronger images and a genuine sense of place.
